Our story
I have always valued three things above all, nature, natural fibres, and education.
As a designer, drawing from these ideals has given me a huge canvas upon which to create pieces that honour our planet, draw on our natural resources and bring a fun exciting way to inspire and educate our children about the world we live in.
Each piece we make is filled with fun through our unique and quirky motifs, each being an ideal starting point to fire imagination in our children and teach them about the simple things we take for granted.
As a parent and grandparent, I understand the need for quality clothing that lasts. Each piece we make will last past being outgrown, and becomes an heirloom to give to siblings or friends. This heirloom quality makes each piece special and a link between generations.
Each piece we create brings me joy, and that is something we hope to pass on to all our customers and their children.
Our history
I began creating at 16, using pure wool and other natural fibres. There really is no comparison for the properties these fibres have.
Natural fibres offer us warmth, breathability, less washing, and a completely circular garment that biodegrades completely when it's life is over, and does not sit in the piles of discarded clothing for decades.
Creating for children, natural fibres are hard-wearing and beautiful. They offer a medium that can become anything you can imagine, which in turn inspired me to make pieces that encourage discussion, fire imagination, and allow us to talk about the small things that are so important in a child's life.
Every motif I put on a piece has it's own story, cats with bees, fish, cars and traffic lights, all working together to fire imagination and get children to look at the world in a different way. Making each piece more than just a garment.
The Process
Each piece we make is hand coloured to ensure that there are no long floats behind the motif.
Attention to detail is our mantra and each design is never fully identical to another, colour changes , different forms of motifs, all make each design a one off.
